Who can participate

The network brings together CEOs, board members, and other senior leaders of grant-making organizations who have meaningful decision-making authority over the allocation or direction of grants.

Public foundations and other organizations that both raise funds and make grants are also welcome. We ask, however, that members participate in their capacity as funders and not use the network to solicit funding or grants.

 

If your organization works to strengthen democracy but does not make grants, we encourage you to connect with the Canadian Democracy Coalition, a broader network for organizations working across Canada’s democracy ecosystem.

 

What participation looks like

 

Members connect through gatherings, shared learning, regular virtual conversations and webinars, informal exchange, and collaborative initiatives. The network also provides opportunities to share information and explore potential collaborations.

Between gatherings, the listserv offers a simple space to share resources, funding opportunities, research, events, questions, and other information that may be useful to members.

Members are encouraged to contribute to the life of the network by sharing ideas, resources, questions, and opportunities as they arise. Participation in specific activities or projects is voluntary: we do not expect every member organization to take part in every initiative.
